Community guidelines
Be useful, be honest, be kind. Write about first-hand experience, keep personal details out of public posts, and disclose any relationship with a business you're reviewing.
Write from experience
Review only places you've actually visited, and within twelve months of your stay or visit. Say what you did, when you went and who you went with — specifics help other travellers far more than adjectives.
Declare any connection
If you own, work for, are related to, or received something free from a business, say so in the post. Undisclosed promotional reviews and reviews of competitors are removed and can cost you your account.
Keep it civil
Criticism of a place is welcome; abuse of a person is not. No harassment, slurs, threats, or comments about someone's race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability. Disagree with the post, not the poster.
Protect private details
Don't publish full names of staff, phone numbers, booking references, car registrations or photos of other guests. Legal disputes, allegations of crime and medical claims belong with the relevant authority, not in a review.
Reporting and enforcement
Use the report link on any review or forum post. Moderators aim to review reports within one working day, and can edit, unpublish or remove content and suspend repeat offenders. You can appeal any decision by emailing hello@vacationguide.co.uk.
