How we verify reviews
Every review is screened automatically and, where needed, by a human moderator. We check the reviewer's history, look for booking evidence, and remove anything we can't stand behind.
Automatic screening
Every submission is scored on writing patterns, account age and history, device and network signals, and how the rating compares with the reviewer's own past behaviour. Anything that scores badly is held before publication rather than after.
Human moderation
Held reviews go to a moderator who looks for booking evidence, photo metadata and consistency with the visit described. Where it's unclear, we ask the reviewer for proof of the stay before the review goes live.
What we remove
Reviews bought or incentivised by a business, reviews posted by owners or their competitors, second-hand accounts, and posts that are a complaint about a booking site rather than the place itself.
Business responses and appeals
Owners can respond publicly to any review, and can dispute one they believe is fake. Disputes are re-checked by a second moderator, and reviewers are told the outcome. Reinstated reviews carry their original date.
What AI never does
AI summarises published reviews into themes and pros and cons. It never writes a review, never edits one, and never affects a rating or a ranking.
